Lack of Sleep and anxiety
Jul 4th, 2007 by Michelle
Well last night I was up until 4-AM working. It was productive work and fruitful so it was time well spent. BUT there are consequences, for me at least, for working those long hours. Every time my sleep pattern changes by more than an hour or two anxiety is sure to follow. So I set myself up for this anxiety ridden day, but I will say that the anxiety attacks that have come today have been very short lived and no where near as bad as they have been before working with the Easy Calm program. Also Pass Through Panic: Freeing yourself From Anxiety and Fear has been VERY helpful to me and I have listened to it over and over along with the Easy Calm program.
Recovering from anxiety disorders is just like recovering from other illnesses, although I do not consider anxiety disorders an “Illness” but a behavioral problem. Don’t get me wrong, anxiety disorders can be crippling to a person and I am no way downgrading anxiety disorders. To heal your nerves you need to eat a balanced diet, get some exercise and SLEEP, just to name a few!
I bought myself a new Samsung Blackjack phone and I use it religiously to manage my day. I have alarms to go off when I need to take my meds, even when to wake up. I find that keeping a daily to-do list helps me manage my anxiety 100% better than relying on memory. I have even started planning my meals and entering menus in my BlackJack. I noticed when I don’t eat well my blood sugar drops in the 80’s and that’s when I start to feel shaky and when I feel shaky it can trigger a panic attack.
So..I guess it’s time to make the time and effort needed to be healthy, both mentally and physically!

I agree with you. It’s important to stay on a steady schedule if you want your body to remain calm. That said, don’t plan every minute of your day. Relax a bit.
