So much negativity on TV :( and media

Well after my major attack of hives I have been eliminating stress in my life. I stopped attending classes which was causing me a great deal of stress. I eliminated some negative people I been talking to and am looking to make new positive friends. The big thing is I am learning how to say No so that I don’t overload myself with projects and work.
This morning I decided to relax with a great cup of gevaliamocha coffee (DECAF) and watch some TV. 90% of the channels that I tuned to had some kind of negative component in them. Someone was either talking about death, violence, being sick it was just horrible! I am trying to avoid things that feed on my anxiety and it is working! I am going to the grocery store more, I get out of the house every day in the morning before it gets hot and before I go to work. I have been working on Lucinda Bassetts program every day and let me tell you it is the best investment in myself I have ever made! So I decided that I would turn off the TV and then do a few things around the house and write a post here since I haven’t blogged about anything lately.
I am at the point now where I refuse to watch the news. I figured if a hurricane is coming I will see lots of plywood on windows lol. Even when a hurricane brews the media over dramatizes it for us in Florida. As I always say, bad news is good news.

I do so agree. I’m sure there is a case for a “good news only” spot in the TV schedules. I myself used to suffer from periodic bouts of depression. I steered away from medications after seeing what it did to people. So, like you I decided to cut out as many negative influences as I could and replace them with positive ones.
