A Funny Vacation Memory
Mar 22nd, 2008 by Michelle
Today as I was driving around town running my usual errands and my son was telling me about how the Florida Aquarium was at his school Friday and he was able to pet aligator. He started telling me all the things the people from the aquarium said not to do, such as pull the aligators tail because he would bite, seems obvious to adults but to 10 year olds I guess they need to be reminded.
One year while in Charleston, SC I had a simular gator experience, except this gator was about 8 feet long! I was residing in NYC at the time and never seen an aligator before, so I had some left over chicken from the trip down I decided to feed the aligator so that I could get a better picture of it. About 5 minutes later a security guy riding in a gold cart told me that it was illegal to feed the gators. I had to laugh because I thought that was the craziest law I have ever heard! After a bit of research I did find out that the security guy was correct. While I was at the lagoon feeding the gator my boss who sent me to SC for some R & R called and a fellow co-worker answered the phone and was telling my boss about how I was downstairs feeding the alligator. Not only was I the talk of the office but my boss extended my vacation from 2 weeks to 3 weeks.
Now that I am agoraphobic free I plan on taking another trip this summer!
