Very good post. I agree with you that people are probably born with a tendency towards anxiety and that life events play an important role in 'triggering' the condition.
I also agree that it is a decision whether or not one feels the victim. Every situation presents one with a choice of response and reaction. That may be over simplifying it, but it is true. First you need awareness that you have a choice. Separate yourself from being consumed by the emotion, in this case 'a victim,' and soon you will have the clarity to make a real choice.
